NAPOLITANO
Looks like rope burn. You should have that looked at.
CELESTE
Doc?
HENDRICKS
Sorry, ma'am, we examine 'em, we don't treat 'em.
NAPOLITANO
I’ll take you, but we can’t be seen together. Leave out the back and I'll pick you up around the corner.
CELESTE
Russ, it was so horrible...
She moves close and Napolitano holds her. Then, with Hendricks looking on, she kisses him hard on the lips. He might even be kissing back.
He opens the door, and she slips out and down the hall. He turns and stares at Larry's body, feeling physically ill.
HENDRICKS
Happy I could help out, your Honor.
NAPOLITANO
She always was a first-rate actress. I think her good looks worked against her, don't you?
Hendricks is stunned by his friend's coldness.
HENDRICKS
You think she's not hurting -- her own daughter messing her over like that?
NAPOLITANO
I'm not sure what I think.
Hendricks resumes his cleanup.
HENDRICKS
Yeah, actors. This town's full of 'em, I guess. Some of 'em aren't even in the movie business.
NAPOLITANO
(smiles bitterly)
Sorry to put you into this.
And he lets himself out.
