The Man has a small motorboat tied under the pier. He forces Napolitano into the boat and then pushes off into the break. He seems to know what he’s doing and maneuvers the boat so he can jump into it, kick on the ENGINE and run it sideways across the waves. Soon they are hurtling through the night, far away from the shoreline and the cops, who just watch helplessly from the shore.
INT. MOTORBOAT - ON THE WATER - MOVING FAST - NIGHT
Napolitano, studying the guy’s face, finally recognizes him.
The guy looks up, doesn’t respond.
Napolitano pulls the map from his jacket.
The man takes the map, glances at it and stuffs it in a pocket. He steers the boat toward a deserted little inlet near Venice. Napolitano has a sinking feeling in his chest.
