Right of Way 34
MALE OFFICER
License and registration please.
NAPOLITANO
Are you new on the force, Officer…
(reading badge and name tag)
…Jensen, 61722?
MALE OFFICER
I know who you are, sir.
NAPOLITANO
Then why the hell do you need my I.D.?
MALE OFFICER
Step out of the car, please.
NAPOLITANO
Why on earth would I do that?
MALE OFFICER
Don’t make this harder than it has to be.
NAPOLITANO
Okay, I’ll step out of the car.
(as he does)
Chief Bratton didn’t tolerate these kind of tactics when I was on the force, and I know he doesn’t now.
During this, Napolitano has checked out the Female Officer, who seems distracted, edgy. He also spots a couple of La Brea HIPSTER WOMEN walking to a coffee shop.
MALE OFFICER
Turn around and put your hands on the roof.
NAPOLITANO
Are you kidding me?

He turns and calls out to the pedestrians, who are watching --

NAPOLITANO
Ladies, good evening!
OFFICER
Hands on the car!
