Nancy Silverton threw a grand opening for the new La Brea Bakery Cafe on Thursday, just about a block up the street from the spot where she founded La Brea Bakery 25 years ago. City Council President Herb Wesson, Councilman Tom LaBonge, and author and food critic Ruth Reichl were among those on hand. The cafe is in the space formerly occupied by the Rita Flora flower shop.
