This latest round, which had been telegraphed in the trades for several days, will result in about 150 job cuts at Walt Disney Studios. The areas most affected: distribution and marketing, home entertainment, production, and the music and theater business. The company has been going through one of those dreaded internal reviews to ensure, as a Mouse House release put it, "the studios' operational structure and economics align with the demands of the current marketplace." Yeah, tell that to your spouse and kids when you come home today with a pink slip. (Deadline)
