Already Scott London is being described as KPMG's "rogue" partner who got himself fired for allegedly tipping off a third party with information about Herbalife and Skechers, two of the Big Four accounting firm's clients. Both the SEC and the U.S. attorney's office in L.A. are looking into the matter, but for now we're left with the barest information on London, who is 50 and lives in Agoura Hills. A graduate of Cal State Northridge (he's on the advisory board for its College of Business and Economics), London has been with the firm for 29 years. He is also chairman of the Los Angeles Sports Council and on the board of the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce. So he's a bit more visible than many accounting guys who normally disappear into the woodwork, but not much - certainly not nearly enough to get a slant on what's going on or who else might be involved. And let's keep in mind that London has not been charged with anything thus far.
*Curious nugget: Bloomberg's Jonathan Weil wonders whether there's any connection between London's work on the Los Angeles Sports Council and the fact that Herbalife is the main sponsor of the L.A. Galaxy.
