Well yeah, 87,000 viewers in the prime 25-54 demographic the other night, which even by cable news standards is practically public access territory. The show is down 27 percent in total viewers since its debut more than two years ago (here's the Deadline post). By comparison, Fox's Sean Hannity had 368,000 viewers in the 25-54 bracket that same evening and MSNBC's Rachel Maddow had 254,000. Morgan's numbers are even lower than his predecessor Larry King, who drew about 100,000 viewers towards the end of his CNN run in 2010. How much longer can this go on? There had been talk about Morgan's show moving to a later-evening time slot, but so far no sign of a decision on where he might land. CNN's new boss Jeff Zucker is still shuffling the deck.
