The old Borders store on Sunset and Vine is being replaced by a Walgreens superstore, and I can't help feeling something is amiss. You just shouldn't be trading in books for shampoo. From Hollywood Patch (h/t Curbed LA):
"It's very different from a traditional Walgreens store," said Matt Dzurec, a land-use planner for Walgreens. "It's very high-end and contemporary." Store features would include a nail salon, a beauty center with makeup artists, and sushi prepared onsite, Dzurec said. Customers could pick up groceries, including fresh fruits and vegetables, coffee, fine cheese, some meat items and higher-end alcohol. A frozen yogurt station is also in the plans.
