L.A. not on list of America's 25 drunkest cities

At least according to the Daily Beast, which based its ranking on the average number of alcoholic drinks consumed per month, the percentage of heavy drinkers in a metro area, and a bunch of other metrics that might or might not be relevant. L.A. has never been much of a bar town, so maybe its exclusion is warranted (note that NY isn't on either). Frankly, the list doesn't make much intuitive sense - Vegas more sober than St. Louis? Fort Myers more drunk than SF? Anyway, for what it's worth (aside from extra page views for the Beast):

)Boston
)Springfield, Mass.
)Milwaukee
)Reno
)San Antonio
)Chicago
)Austin, Texas
)St. Louis
)San Diego
)Tucson, Ariz.
)Burlington, Vermont
)Charleston, South Carolina
)Denver
)Las Vegas
))Fort Myers, Fla.
)Buffalo, N.Y.
)Sioux Falls, S.D.
)Lincoln, Nebraska
)Seattle
)Bismarck, N.D.
)Providence, R.I.
)San Francisco
)Cleveland
)Norfolk, Va.
)Houston
