Want a job at Google? Lots of luck

Did you know that the company receives over one million resumes a year? And that only 4,000-6,000 people are hired? That's between .01 percent and .04 percent of all candidates. Did you know that some applicants have gone through 29 interviews? Or that a lead software engineer can make up to $239,000 a year (that probably explains the million resumes). JobVine (via Business Insider) has a bunch of interesting factoids about working up there. Here are some of the crazy questions they sometimes ask

--How many golf balls can fit in a school bus?
--How much should you charge to wash all the windows in Seattle?
--How many piano tuners are there in the entire world?
--Why are manhole covers round?
--Design an evacuation plan for San Francisco
--How many times a day does a clock's hand overlap?

It is worth noting that Google has been a veritable hiring machine - its workforce has jumped from 2,300 in 2002 to 28,800 in 2011.
