Cops ready to make their move on NY protesters

Zuccotti Park, which is base camp for the Occupy Wall Street movement, will be shut down tomorrow morning for cleaning - and while demonstrators will be allowed back in, they won't be allowed to bring in any camping gear. Which, of course, creates a problem for those who want to stay. Sounds like Mayor Bloomberg has had about enough. From the NYT:

Many protesters have called the evacuation order a pretext for shutting down the protests permanently, and some have vowed nonviolent resistance on Friday morning, including encircling the park to prevent the police from forcing them to leave. The city also seemed to suggest that the protesters would no longer be able to continue making the park their temporary living quarters.

Keep in mind that the park is not owned by the city but by Brookfield Properties, making the issue of eviction all the murkier. At last check, organizers were appealing to city officials.
