Business Update on KPCC: Another supermarket strike?

Union members take a strike authorization vote on Friday, with a walkout possible early next week. Frankly, no one seems all that thrilled about a strike, not with 12 percent unemployment and a growing number of non-union chains in Socal. I talk about the prospects - as well as the struggles that private-sector unions are facing in general - during this morning's business chat with Kari Moran (Steve Julian is away). Available at
kpcc.org and podcast (Business Update with Mark Lacter). Transcript is after jump.

By the way, KPCC had an interesting multi-part series last month on the changing face of Socal supermarkets. Here's Part 1.
