Still no sign of a breakthrough in contract talks with the major supermarket chains, so the L.A. labor federation is turning the screws a bit by airing this spot on KABC 790AM during Dodgers games. The ad sites some survey that shows 62 percent of shoppers will honor picket lines in the event of a strike. Who knows whether that's true, but the last major supermarket strike in 2003-2004 did result in a huge drop in business. Health care remains a major sticking point, but the two sides are still talking, despite the old contract having expired in March. Not to state the obvious, but it's not a great time to be walking off the job.
