The vote is 218-210, with 22 Republicans voting no. Now his bill goes to the Senate, where it's expected to be killed off later today. From there, presumably, Senate Democrats and Republicans will try crafting a compromise measure - and then hope no one tries tying up the legislation with procedural maneuvers (Republican Sen. Jim Demint has made noises about doing just that). Whatever they end up with will have to go back to the House, and goodness knows what will happen there. (NYT)
*Update: By a 59 to 41 vote, the Senate just killed the Boehner debt ceiling bill.
