We're talking volatile. Dow was down more than 200 points in the first hour or so of trading, but managed to trim those losses towards the end of the session - ostensibly because of some encouraging developments in Greece. Seems flimsy, but at the close, the index was off just 58 points, to 12,050. Oil, meanwhile, settled at just over $91 a barrel, which has to be considered good news because it probably means still-lower gas prices.
