"I became a caricature of myself - and I became a caricature of somebody who was uncaring - unfeeling - excessively living - bad guy - and that's just not who I am," he told Good Morning America in an interview that was described as a "GMA exclusive" (somebody should have clued them in that McCourt has been talking to most anyone holding a microphone and notepad). Without a detailed accounting, his defense doesn't amount to much.
