Guess LeBron & Co. are proving to be a ratings draw, at least based on game 1 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Last night's Miami-Chicago contest on TNT drew an average of 11.1 million viewers, making it the most viewed NBA game in cable history.
Actually, TNT's coverage of the playoffs is up over last year, another reminder of cable's prominence as a sports platform. Of course, having an attractive match-up involving two of the largest media markets doesn't hurt. Dallas and Oklahoma City in the West might be a tougher sell.
