We're talking about $100 million in buildings, land, cars, and cash. The cash portion of Margie Petersen's gift amounts to "many, many, many millions of dollars," says the Petersen Automotive Museum's executive director, Buddy Pepp. Her donation will be used to refurbish the place and make the outside stand out a bit more (it's across the street from LACMA).
