The popular conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic will be staying on through the 2018-2019 season (the orchestra's centennial year). His original contract would have ended in 2014. The orchestra is currently in Budapest as part of a multi-city European tour (timing of the announcement seems odd). Needless to say, there are no specifics about his contract. (LAT)
