California remains nation's most mobile state

More people moved out of in 2010 than any state in the nation, according to Allied Van Lines, but more people moved in than any state. All told, 6,093 shipments went in and 6,208 shipments went out - roughly a wash. Texas had the highest net relocation gain - 5,135 shipments going in and 3,977 going out. That's a little lower than in 2009 (perhaps reflecting the problems starting to be faced by state and local governments). Colorado, Florida, South Carolina and Arizona also had large relocation gains. Here's the release.
