The L.A. billionaire is preparing a bid in the event that the McCourts' divorce forces a sale, Bloomberg is reporting. The investor might try to buy the team with his brother Tom (you'll recall that the two tried to purchase Miramax last year), or he might join an investment group, according to the report. Seems kind of speculative at this stage - you can be sure that if the McCourts are forced to give up the team, there will be plenty of other potential bidders (real estate tycoon Alan Casden and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban are among those being mentioned). By the way, Frank McCourt insists that the team is not for sale - and still no word on how Major League Baseball might deal with the mess.
