Well, at least according to a new SurveyUSA poll. In the governor's race, Brown has a 7-point edge over Whitman, while in the Senate contest Boxer is only up by two points over Fiorina. Looking at other polls over the last month, Boxer has generally held a low single-digit lead, so most likely not much has changed. Still, this is clearly in the too-close-to-call category. Meanwhile, Brown's lead - generally in the high single digits - has held steady over the last few weeks.
*Another poll just out: Brown has an 8-point lead over Whitman, according to the Public Policy Institute of California, while Boxer has a 5-point lead over Fiorina. The survey also shows that Proposition 19, which would legalize marijuana, and Proposition 23, which would suspend the state's anti-global warming law, are losing.
