Both the Senate Republican candidate and the conservative campaign contributor support Proposition 23, which would suspend California's greenhouse gas law. Koch's political action committee has donated $1 million on behalf of the ballot initiative. Fiorina is off to Washington tonight for a fundraiser that's being sponsored, in part, by Koch. From AP:
Andrea Saul, a spokeswoman for the Fiorina campaign, said Fiorina has not talked to Koch officials about energy policy. She said Fiorina "does not owe anything to anyone and wants to go to Washington to fight for jobs and what's in the best interest of all Californians." Saul also countered that Boxer is the top recipient of money from environmental groups this election cycle, based on rankings from the Center for Responsive Politics.
Meg Whitman has announced that she opposes Proposition 23, although she would still suspend it for a year if elected.
