Sidney Harman will have an awfully tough time keeping the newsweekly alive, but I couldn't help compare his opening remarks to staff members with the remarks made by Sam Zell to Orlando Sentinel staffers just after he took over Tribune Co. Call it class act vs. class clown. By the way, the 91-year-old Harman, who still teaches at USC, says he'll be shuttling between L.A. and NY. "I intend to devote all my professional time to USC and to Newsweek and the one that's the most fun will have most of my time," he said.
