Bren's ex-lover running out of money

Jennifer McKay Gold, the woman at the center of a child support case involving the two children she had with billionaire real estate mogul Donald Bren, has additional money issues. Gold, who is in the midst of divorcing her husband, former Warner Group executive Jerome Gold, says she's running out of cash. From the OC Register:

Since 2002, Jerome and Jennifer Gold have been living in a 9,000-square-foot home in Mulholland Estates in Beverly Hills that she estimates in court documents to be worth about $6 million. They are trying to sell the home. In her declaration for spousal support and to have her estranged husband pay for legal fees in their divorce case, Gold says she is living off a $200,000 home equity loan that is rapidly being depleted. "I do not have the means to support myself without using the loan, which will not last long," Gold says in her declaration. "I must also have some place to live when the home sells."

Jennifer Gold says she has cut down on her spending, but can't afford such things as a gardener, pool cleaner, housekeeper and exterminator. This gets a tad confusing because, as the Register reports, "Jennifer Gold married Jerome Gold on May 25, 2001 and got engaged three times to two other men during the period she was negotiating the private child-support contracts with Bren, documents show."

Meanwhile, the judge in the Bren case, which resumes tomorrow in federal court, is allowing 15 to 18 loves notes allegedly written by Bren to be introduced as evidence. The lawsuit, which goes back to 2003 when the two kids were minors, alleges that Bren committed fraud by making false oral promises to Gold about remaining in their children's lives. The kids are seeking $134 million in back child support.
