Interesting chart from Calculated Risk that shows a huge drop in L.A. home prices through December 2008, little or no change through December 2009, and only a small uptick through April 2010 (note the light blue, orange and red bars). Housing stats have been very confusing of late because so much depends on location, but these overall numbers are a reminder of how limited the recovery has been.
