Turns out that Villaraigosa has received free courtside seats from none other than Anschutz Entertainment Group, which owns Staples Center and LA Live - oh, and also happens to be a major recipient of city favors. (AEG is also a heavy campaign contributor to Villaraigosa.) Channel 11's John Schwada has the story, following up on his initial report the night before. Villaraigosa says that when he's at the games in an official city capacity he doesn't have to disclose the value and source of the tickets (he gave a certificate to a soccer player at one of the games). In other cities, this would be a major scandal - here, it's yawn time, and Villaraigosa knows it.
