Guess who pays for DWP nonsense?

Remember that bit of silliness a few weeks back between the council and the mayor over a boost in utility rates? Well, the council (meaning you and me) is picking up the $600,000 tab for a consulting firm's extra work on the proposed surcharge - the same firm that had initially recommended that DWP boost its rates by up to 22 percent. The original contract by PA Consulting Group was for $250,000, but when the bickering began, PA was asked to provide further work. (LAT)
