'Skinny bitch in apocalypse'

jeans.jpgWhat happened to the days when jeans were called, well, jeans? Rock & Republic, the Culver City-based clothing house that specializes in denim and filed for Chapter 11, does a lot of "inspired bondage numbers," according to Styleite - and that's quite apparent by the names of the merchandise. Yes, "Skinny bitch in apocalypse" is one. Among others:

--Crazy B!@#$h in Induce Blue
--Sexy B!@#$h
--Tila in Lust Gratification Blue
--Luanne in Trickster
--Winona in Isolator

All these and others can be found on the company Web site, your local department store, and R&R's own boutique on Robertson. The jeans are priced in the $200-$300 range, which is substantial money in a still-soft economy. Besides, how many women can wear this stuff? Lawyers say they needed to "ease pressures on its balance sheet" and will be seeking up to $7.5 million in financial assurances. In the meantime, operations at the privately owned company will go on, as usual.
