Yet another service disappears from what used to be the full-service department store. Macy's will be shuttering most of its gift-wrap departments, with the exceptions of locations in NY, Miami, SF and OC (South Coast Plaza). Actually, Macy's began to dismantle the departments a few years back. There's just not that much demand anymore, maybe because it can be expensive and because more people consider elaborate gift-wrapping to be an unnecessary burden on the environment. As a rule, higher-end stores still provide the service.
