More than 200 of them, along with the mayor and other city officials, will be pushing an agenda today through Wednesday under the heading "America's Recovery Engine." The basic message is that many thousands of jobs can be created in Socal if only Washington lawmakers could see fit to provide stuff like block grant programs, tax credits, and federal waivers. I'm not sure what these things really accomplish (other than some great networking opportunities for the participants), but as they used to say in the old country, it couldn't hurt. Here's the agenda.
