There are 8 million stories in the Naked Corporation - and two of them, Vince Zampella and Jason West, are no longer with the Santa Monica-based videogame company. Zampella and West were two key executives for Infinity Ward, the Activision division that's responsible for the blockbuster game "Call of Duty." The departures follow an oblique reference in Activision's annual report about the company "concluding an internal human resources inquiry into breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward." Nobody is offering details, but the dispute seems to center on - what else? - money. Encino-based Infinity Ward was started in 2002 and sold to Activition in 2003. As word of the departures was making the rounds, the company announced that the "Call of Duty" franchise was being reorganized into a dedicated business unit. "Call of Duty" is a huge deal for Activision - the latest installment - "Modern Warfare 2" - became the biggest entertainment launch in history. Any sort of disruption is bound to get some attention, and the gaming business has a huge yenta quotient. (Digits, Kotaku)
