"American Idol" is saved. Time Warner Cable and News Corp., parent of the Fox broadcast network, have reached an agreement that keeps "Idol," along with all the other Fox programming, on the Time Warner systems in L.A., NY and other markets. "We're pleased that, after months of negotiations, we were able to reach a fair agreement with Time Warner Cable -- one that recognizes the value of our programming," Chase Carey, News Corp. COO said in a statement. No word on details of the deal, specifically how much Fox was able to wrangle from the cable giant (it was going for $1 per subscriber).
