Everybody is there, it seems, so why not the guy who helped pass some of the most aggressive environmental legislation in the nation? Schwarzenegger's message to negotiators: think small. From Politico:
Rather than sweat the big stuff -- federal governments and international negotiations -- people should pay more attention to what regions, businesses and "ordinary folks" are doing, Schwarzenegger said, adding that all is not lost even if national leaders don't produce a legally binding deal. "Even if they don't come to an agreement, it's still going to be a successful conference," he said.

His timing was impeccable. Prospects for a legally binding deal on how to combat climate change appear dim, something the California governor acknowledged when asked to assess the prospects for an agreement. "It depends on what your definition of a deal is," he said. "I don't think certain countries can come here and make a final agreement. For instance, the United States - President Obama is moving in the right direction...but he still needs Congress to have it passed. So it's not that simple."
