L.A.'s worst mattress

Larry Miller and those wild-and-crazy Sit 'n Sleepers are at it again. From its news release (h/t Curbed LA)

Starting this week, contest entrants are invited to create and submit inspiring videos detailing just why their mattress is the very worst in town. Uploaded to www.worstmattress.com, entries will be judged both on creativity and the criteria used to determine whether that old mattress needs to be replaced.

Among the judging criteria: Wear and tear ("does it look like it was dropped off the 5 Freeway during rush hour and hit by a semi truck?"); age ("was it purchased in a time before the Internet, cordless phones or even microwaves?"); and stains ("does your mattress bear the evidence of years of bedroom activity?"). Yuck! You have to submit a video of under 90 seconds that lays out the ugly details. Double-yuck! They'll select five finalists, with the winner picking up $100,000.
