The Union-Tribune finally got around to announcing how many people it's laying off. The number is 112, not the 200 that had been posted yesterday. The cuts follow the elimination of 192 positions three months ago when Bev Hills-based Platinum Equity bought the paper. The U-T says it will focus more on local community news and launch what it calls a ''micro-zoning'' initiative for small businesses to advertise at lower rates.(E&P)
