SAG's Allen stays

Boy, talk about a screwed-up operation. After a marathon 30-hour session, the national board of the Screen Actors Guild has adjourned with no action taken. No ouster of chief negotiator (and executive director) Doug Allen, and no abandonment of the strike authorization vote. You might recall that just 24 hours ago it appeared that Allen was on his way out. From Variety:

It’s not clear whether this was a campaign of misinformation, or mistakes from SAG board members. But the conflict indicates the disarray and the warring factions within the guild. But the bigger question is not what happened at the past two days, but what happens in the coming month -- including Allen’s role, the strength of guild prexy Alan Rosenberg and his administration, and the outcome of the strike vote.
