It's not just the school lunch program. Meat from more than 2,600 establishments, mostly Socal restaurants and supermarkets, appear to have the beef that originated from Hallmark/Westland, according to the latest state list. We're talking about everything from pizza to tacos. The recalled beef could have changed hands as many as six or seven times before finally reaching a store or restaurant. A single purchaser resold it to about 2,500 other vendors. So far, there aren't any reports of sickness from the meat, which was recalled Feb. 17 after an undercover Humane Society worker filmed sick cows being prodded to the slaughterhouse. Apparently, it could take up to two months to track everything down.
