This might have started a few days back, but today is the first time I've seen a Daily News story prominently featured on the Daily Breeze Web site (it's the gas prices piece). The Breeze is now part of Dean Singleton's MediaNews empire, so that means stories are shared among the company's Socal properties. That includes the Daily News, Long Beach Press-Telegram, Pasadena Star-News, Whittier Daily News and San Gabriel Valley Tribune, San Bernardino Sun, Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and Redlands Daily Facts. It's part of Singleton's clustering strategy in which certain operations - editorial, advertising, circulation - can be shared throughout the network. At last check, the old Breeze Web site was still up and running.
