Monday's preliminary numbers show the NBC drama (or is it a comedy?) declining 15 percent from a week earlier, to finish either third or fourth in its time slot, depending on how the updated numbers shake out. The ratings have been sliding almost from the start - and along with the low numbers are very high production costs ($3 million an episode by some estimates). Of course, the show's creator is hot-shot Aaron Sorkin ("The West Wing"), so NBC might feel obligated to keep it going a while longer. Who knows - it's television.
