It might surprise you. Fortune magazine ranks the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences as the place to go for marketable experience (even if the positions are unpaid). This year, there were 777 applicants for 32 slots. The screening process includes an essay, four letters of recommendation and an on-camera interview. Once in the program, the students work for Fox TV, E! and The Disney Channel. Also on Fortune's list of best companies/organizations to do internships are Microsoft, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Deloitte & Touche.
