Driving

My little PCH driving moment

reel-inn.jpg

On Friday evening, a warm night, I suggested we drive up Pacific Coast Highway for our annual summer visit to the Reel Inn for fried shrimp and a beer on the patio across the highway from Topanga Beach. I could tell my wife was skeptical — a Friday night in summer, traffic could be brutal. I had just slogged home from downtown and wasn't too sure of the notion myself, but it seemed like the better of our options.

So we hit the freeway, and enjoyed a first-ever experience for me on PCH.

Posted on my Facebook page:

Angelenos who drive PCH will appreciate: 405 to the Reel Inn (that's just above Topanga) without hitting one red light. No stops even for traffic. On a Friday evening. Driving karma.

And yes, I have already been chastised at Facebook for possibly misusing karma.
