Los Angeles cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz posted his take on the killing in South Carolina of another unarmed black man, Walter Scott, and the unmasking of the police coverup by a witness with a cellphone. The officer who shot a fleeing Scott in the back then lied about it, Michael Slager, has been fired and charged with murder.
Alcaraz has been taking some Twitter heat from viewers who see the videographer as a white man and who don't think it should be. The cellphone footage was taken by Feidin Santana, a native of the Dominican Republic.
Lalo's response:
This is a cartoon, it's not an actual snapshot of what happened, it's a representation of a concept. https://t.co/vVE6C9B75p
