Rashida Jones, the actress on “Parks and Recreation” with a solid 15 years of TV and film credits to her name, was on the red carpet at the SAG-AFTRA awards on Sunday when TNT correspondent Danielle Demski commented on Jones' healthy look. In particular, her tan.
"You look like you've just come off an island or something. You're very tan. Very tropical," Demski gushed. Jones blinked and gave her a look, but also gave the naive TV reporter an out by quipping “I mean, you know, I'm ethnic." Unfortunately, Demski and her male accomplice reacted as if Jones were cute, or joking. Watch the moment below.
OK, maybe not everyone watching the SAG-AFTRA awards would know that Jones is famously biracial with celebrity parents. But a red carpet reporter for TNT — and all of her producers — should have known. For the record, Jones' father is music mogul Quincy Jones, who is black, and her mother is former model and actress Peggy Lipton, who is white.
