New views of the Academy museum in Miracle Mile

Curbed LA took a look at the draft environmental impact report for the conversion of the 1939-era May Co. department store at Wilshire and Fairfax into a museum for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Looks like the giant sphere on the backside of the old May Co. sought by architect Renzo Piano remains. And there are plans to add a large Oscar statue where the iconic perfume bottle design towers over the intersection. More photos and analysis at Curbed.
