Longtime LA Times sportswriter tweets her own layoff

Thumbnail image for latimes-sign-sideview.jpgDiane Pucin has been covering sports media and tennis, as well as other sports beats, at the Los Angeles Times for a long time. She tweeted an hour ago that she got tapped on the shoulder.

On Facebook, a friend of hers emails, she elaborated a bit: "Anyone that needs a writer who has produced over 300 stories some years, been a columnist at two papers, done 7 Olympics, 10 Wimbledons, countless college football and basketball games and takeouts, I'm available. Once I stop crying of course." She could have added 14,420 tweets as well.

The public face of her Facebook page says simply: "Lost job today. Am looking for newspaper or public relations work, will move anywhere."
