Crystal Egger of KNBC 4 gets a touch-up before going on the air.
The off-ice show before and during the first outdoor National Hockey League game in California had a little of everything. There were celebrities, sports legends, music legends, and SoCal stereotypes galore: white people (almost exclusively) playing with beachballs, volleyballs, skateboards, Frisbees, footballs, hula hoops and more on the field. The place was packed to the far corners of the upper decks — the crowd was announced at a little over 54,000, by far the biggest crowd most of the hockey players had ever skated in front of before. It felt like a good time was had by all.
The LA Observed team shot some photos and video of the fans and assembled media. Oh, in the game, the Ducks beat the Kings 3-0.
