Dodgers outfield sensation Yasiel Puig has picked up the second reckless driving arrest of his short U.S. driving career. This time he was in Florida — and he got the Mercedes up to 110 miles an hour, according to police. He was nabbed Saturday morning in a 70-mile-an-hour zone of Alligator Alley in southern Florida — Interstate 75. Puig previously was arrested in Chattanooga and charged with speeding, reckless driving and driving without proof of insurance. That case was dismissed at a hearing after Puig had made his big splash with the Dodgers this past season.
On today's arrest from the Naples Daily News:
Puig was released from the Collier County Jail on a “self cash bond” about 1 p.m., according to a jailer. “Self cash” does not necessarily mean he paid it himself, however, that also could mean someone came to the lobby and posted the bond for him; it is not clear which happened in Puig’s case, officials said.
The amount of the bond was $500.
