Water

You can visit the cascades through Saturday

Have you ever wanted to see and hear (and get sprayed by) the Sylmar cascades up close? The Department of Water and Power is leaving the gates until the end of the day on Saturday. The hours are 10 am to 3 pm on Friday and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday. I assume they will be letting water flow down the open channels beside San Fernando Road that are the terminus of the Los Angeles Aqueduct from the Owens Valley. There isn't typically water in the visible cascades at this time of year, but the gates were opened for this week's 100th anniversary celebration.
