Los Angeles photographer Sungjin Ahn has captured some marvelous images of Joshua trees against the desert and the sky and put them into a lovely Vimeo time lapse.

"The overall goal of this time lapse is to provide the beauty of Joshua trees that only live in the U.S.," he writes. "I thought it would be amazing If I can collect all the footages of Joshua trees with different weather condition[s] like snowing, different type of clouds, sun, moon , Milky Way and meteor shower. Joshua trees only live in western Arizona, southeastern California, southern Nevada, and southwestern Utah, which means that we can't see this trees in different countries but only in America....Over the last year I was so happy and passionate making this project."

The Milky Way scenes are especially sumptuous.
